Here we are, Apple fanboys, brooding over the lack of innovation at Apple while Apple courageously headlines their upcoming event as “by innovation only”.
Based on the rumors and leaks, we know that the upcoming iPhones will be having nothing extraordinary to live up to its presumed “pro” name or any significant improvement to the expected Apple watch other than new finishes. Even the new 16inch Macbook pro, that should clean up the mess of past generation models may not live up to this events headline. Apple is having a tough time with U.S-China trade war that will increase their hardware prices soon and without any sound innovation at this event, Apple may have a difficult time convincing even their hardcore fans to upgrade.
Apple possibly will reveal pricing and more information about their upcoming services which will make more money for them in the lieu of a lackluster hardware sales that many expect. Still, people see Apple as a pure hardware company and an innovative one in that. If Apple gives importance to their services than its hardware, then, people will be hugely disappointed. Especially the hardcore fans, who drive the majority of Apple sales every year.
Maybe I’m just worried for nothing, things may look better next year for Apple as the rumor suggests that 2020 iPhone will get a significant upgrade than this one. But, we heard the same one last year for the upcoming iPhone, and it is possible that we may again be let down in 2020. Apple is playing a safe game which is great in the short term but they should step up their game and truly fire all cylinders to be called “by innovation only”.
