I found the secret to instant happiness.
A little intro,
I have always wanted to run more, but my body wasn’t built for that. I could not run for more than 5 minutes without taking serious breaths. Even if I could go for a jog longer than 10 minutes, I would get that serious burning sensation in my legs, telling me to stop. So, here is what I did improve my running capability to enhance cardiovascular health.
A lower resting heart rate means a healthy heart. A good resting rate for my age would be anything under 70. To my shock, mine was above 80. Apple watch measures the heart rate when you do nothing and averages it throughout the day.
I seriously wanted to bring this down. The best way to do it was cardio exercise. Running is the best cardio exercise, and I have easy treadmill access at my gym.
There are two kinds of running: dashing for less time or running slowly for more time. I wanted to do the second because it would give me more endurance.
I thought I was a decent runner and I could run easily without any effort. Boy, was I wrong!
